The Florida Panthers had a busy day today after completing three trades that brought Jiri Hudler, Teddy Purcell and Jakub Kindl.

Panthers GM Dave Tallon started the day by acquiring forward Jiri Hudler from the Calgary Flames in exchange of a second and fourth round draft pick in 2016.

Moments later, he obtained forward Teddy Purcell from the Edmonton Oilers for a third round draft pick in 2016.

He completed today’s shopping by acquiring defenseman Jakub Kindl from the Detroit Red Wings for a six round draft pick in 2017.

Hudler was in his fourth season in Calgary and managed 10 goals and 25 assists in 53 games. For his part, Teddy Purcell had 11 goals and 21 assists in 61 games with the Oilers. Both men will become unrestricted free agents at the end of the season.

Kindl only played 25 games this season managing 6 points.

With those trades the Florida Panthers make a strong statement for the playoffs.
