Margot Robbie to play Tonya Harding
Margot Robbie will be playing disgraced American figure skater Tonya Harding in the movie I, Tonya.
The movie will be about the infamous incident in which Harding’s rival Nancy Kerrigan was attacked with an iron bar at a competition prior to the 1994 Winter Olympics. The attacker was hired by her husband Jeff Gillooly. She later admitted that she knew about the plan and was banned for life and stripped of her 1994 US championship gold.
Margot Robbie will also star this year as Jane in The Legend of Tarzan and as Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad.
