Disney confirms 9 New Movies

Disney has announced projects for nine new movies including a sequel to Maleficent with Angelina Jolie returning in the titular role.

The Jungle Book will also have a sequel.

The full list and details are as follows for the Disney movies:

•Cruella: Starring Emma Stone and written by Saving Mr. Banks scribe Kelly Marcel

•A Wrinkle in Time: Selma director Ava DuVernay is attached to direct, with Frozen screenwriter Jennifer Lee overseeing the script

•Jungle Cruise: Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

•Dumbo: Alice in Wonderland and Edward Scissorhands filmmaker Tim Burton will direct, with Transformers: Age of Extinction writer Ehren Kruger penning the screenplay

•A Marry Poppins sequel: Rob Marshall will direct Emily Blunt and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda

•Maleficent 2: Jolie will return for the sequel along with screenwriter Linda Woolverton

•The Nutcracker and the Four Realms: Safe Haven’s Lasse Hallstrom will direct, with Ashleigh Powell scripting

•The Jungle Book 2: Director Jon Favreau and screenwriter Justin Marks are coming back for the sequel

•A Tinker Bell Project: Reese Witherspoon is set to star, with Finding Dory writer Victoria Strouse working on the film
