WWE Extreme Rules 2016: Results



WWE Extreme Rules was lived from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Baron Corbin def. Dolph Ziggler in No Disqualification match (Kickoff show)

The kickoff show only has one match between Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler in a No Disqualification match. A lot of back and forth action. For a no disqualification match…not a lot of illegal stuff happens. The end saw Baron Corbin hit a low blow on Dolph Ziggler followed by the End of Days for the win.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson def. The Usos in Tornado tag team match

The first match of Extreme Rules is the Tornado tag team match between the Usos and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Good quick match between the two team. The Usos didn’t wasted time by attacking Gallows and Anderson during their entrance. Lot of action outside of the ring. The match ends when Gallows and Anderson hit their finisher for the win.

Rusev def. Kalisto for the WWE United States Championship

One of the two matches without any stipulation of the night for the WWE United States Championship between Rusev and the champion Kalisto. The match was a total domination by Rusev. Kalisto was able to put some offense in but it wasn’t enough. Rusev wins with the Accolade and Kalisto submits. Rusev is a two time champ.

New Day def. The Vaudevillains for the WWE Tag Team Championship

There’s the second match of the night without stipulation and it’s for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Good match again by the two teams. Xavier Woods and Big E are representing the New Day tonight. The Vaudevillains thought they had the championship won after hitting their finishing move but Woods kick out. While the referee was distracted, Kofi Kingston hits Simon Gotch with trouble in paradise and Xavier Woods pins him for the win. The champs retain.

The Miz def. Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The next match is the fatal 4-way for the intercontinental Championship between The Miz, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Sami Zayn. Zayn is on fire when he starts the match by hitting the Helluva Kick on Kevin Owens right as the bells rings. WOW what a match. At one point the crowd was on their feet chanting Yes!. The finish saw Sami Zayn hitting the Helluva kick on Cesaro but Kevin Owens breaks the count. Zayn goes crazy one Owens outside the ring. Meanwhile, The Miz covers Cesaro for the win. The champ retains. Match of the Year Candidate!!!

Dean Ambrose def. Chris Jericho in a Asylum match

It’s time for the Asylum match between Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose. A lot of weapons used in this match. The only one that wasn’t used was the plant lol Ambrose brings thumbtacks into the ring. Jericho hit Ambrose with the barbed wire. Ambrose was able to kick out of the Code Breaker. Ambrose wins the match after throwing Jericho in the thumbtacks and hit dirty deeds for the win.

Charlotte def. Natalya in a Submission match for the WWE Women’s Championship

For this match If Ric Flair disregards his ban from ringside, Charlotte will lose her title. The match was a submission and saw a lot of submission from both women during the match. Ric Flair music hits and Dana Brooke comes out dress like Ric Flair. The distraction allows Charlotte to put on the figure eight and Natalya submits. Charlotte finds another way to win.

Roman Reigns def. AJ Styles in a Extreme Rules match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

It’s time for the main event of the evening for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. At the start of the match they battle everywhere into the crowd. Roman Reigns send AJ Styles through a table twice. Gallows and Anderson interfered in the match and hit their finisher on Reigns and put AJ Styles on him put he kicked out. The Usos are coming down too and hit Styles with superkcik and a splash but he’s able to continue. Styles hit a Styles Clash on a steel chair but one of the Usos grabs his leg to help Roman get up. Styles goes crazy on the Blood Line will the steel chairs. He goes for the Flying Forearm but Reigns hit the spear for the win. After the match, Seth Rollins returns and attacked Reigns. He holds the title that he never lost in the air to close out the show.
