The hockey world lost a legend as Mr Hockey Gordie Howe passed away at the age of 88.

Howe started his NHL career in 1946 with the Detroit Red Wings. In 1767 games, he recorded 801 goals and 1049 assists for a grand total of 1850 points.

Gordie Howe also won four Stanley Cups and captured the Hart and Art Ross Trophies six times each.

He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 after having the three-year mandatory waiting period waived.
